Well, perhaps prejudice is a strong word, but there’s been several of instances now of the developers deliberately punishing players like myself who don’t have an Xbox Live Gold account.
First, several vehicles were locked by the online events in the Festival Playlist as prizes during the first month. Then most of them came back during the second month, but were still not unlockable by non-Xbox Live players, as completion of the online events in the Festival Playlist was required in order to accumulate enough points. This happened again this month also.
And, now that we’re almost through with the third month, it appears all of the wheelspin exclusive cars available in the Italian dealership require you to go online to even have a slim chance of purchasing one.
I know why this is happening. It’s to incentivize players who don’t have Xbox Live Gold accounts to get Xbox Live Gold accounts, but I still find it pretty underhanded and scummy. Especially many players aren’t going to notice since I’m sure I’m in the minority rather than the majority.
